The film jumps through their lives as they both search for love, but fail, bumping into each other time and time again. Finally a close friendship blooms between them, and they both like having a friend of the opposite sex. But then they are confronted with the problem: "Can a man and a woman be friends, without sex getting in the way?"

This is my absolute favourite movie of all time... There is no romance movie like it, before or since. It outlines the perfect relationship in my opinion: Friends first, love later. It shows how important it is to gain respect and appreciation for someone through friendship and how it grows. The first time I saw this movie was when the Rogers On Demand thing on our cable box was new and this was offered under the romance section. It's obviously one of the most famous romance movie names, and while watching it I learned why it was so recognized. I think even most men would like it, especially the part in the diner where Meg Ryan demonstrates how easy it is to fake an o*gasm in public!
This is a movie for the hopelessly romantic, for the people in love with their bestfriends, and for people that even just have good taste in comedy and romance.
