Metallica's "Black Album" is officially the highest selling release since Nielsen Soundscan began tracking music sales in 1991.
At 15,735,000 sales, it narrowly beat Shania Twain's "Come On Over" with 15,513,000. Other artists from the rock family in the top ten are the Beatles at number 5, whose "1" compilation sold 11,985,000 and Creed at number 8 who shifted 11,574,000 copies of "Human Clay".
