Ludwig van Beethoven was a German Composer and Pianist. A crucial figure in the transition between the Classical and Romantic Eras in Western Art Music, he remains one of the most famous and influential of all Composers.

By 1820, when he was almost totally deaf, Beethoven composed his greatest works. These include the last five Piano Sonatas, the Missa Solemnis, the Ninth'p Symphony, with its Choral Finale, and the last five String Quartets.

The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C# Minor "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2, popularly known as the Moonlight Sonata, is a Piano Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. It was completed in 1801 and dedicated in 1802 to his Pupil, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi.
