reached #1 in canada. written with the vietnam war in mind but, it could be a timeless response not just for wars but, any conflict in the world right down to including couples. a bit schmaltzy. originally offered to dionne warwick and gene pitney but, both rejected it for various reasons (although, dionne would record it later). of course, the beatles' song, "all you need is love", could have been posted instead.
