Hament, we are all haunted by the past, yet is it real? It is gone and thus technically no longer exists .We keep it going, who knows why we seem to enjoy feeling miserable so much. Loving without needing probably avoids pining. I hope that you will heal soon,
Hi, hament, Reclaiming one's power over memories that rob the present, while acknowledging feelings for a lost love, is one of life's many challenges. Your poem conveys this struggle very well.
Hament, these ladies are wise beyond their young countenances. you do love her of the past, but you must continue, foot in front toward your future.

Thanks for you comments. It is only occasionally I feel a little depressed. Usually I look forward to the future but would really like to have someone to share my journey. I think my poem "What If" is nearer the real me Mike
