LOVE UNENDING
I love you still,
I always will.
A lonely future stretches ahead,
and I am getting weary.
My travels searching for another
companion unfulfilled
Yet the ever present feelings,
and memories of you,
support me in my daytime thoughts
as well as night time dreams.
Thank you for the past,
which will enable me
to face
the remainder of my time.
I love you still
and always will.

Loving without needing probably avoids pining.

Reclaiming one's power over memories that rob the present, while acknowledging feelings for a lost love, is one of life's many challenges. Your poem conveys this struggle very well.
It is only occasionally I feel a little depressed. Usually I look forward to the future but would really like to have someone to share my journey.
I think my poem "What If" is nearer the real me
