Soul-Mate

It's as though I'm constantly climbing the mountain
In my dreams there is a place of peace and joy, near the fountain

As I get closer to my destiny
I am consistently denied my ecstasy.

What does the soul keep secret from me?
I ponder these mysteries beneath my favorite sycamore tree.

I am alone and confused as to which way to go.
It seems that my direction should be clear: up or down, but what do I know.

All I'm looking for is truth, love, and a caring individual.
Does she exist? Could she be my intellectual?

Enough of this bull shit, what am I do to?
My patient is wearing thin and I'm about through.

So, if you are out there my true soul-mate,
Come to me now, hurry, don't be late.

For I am growing tired and do not understand,
Why you haven't come to me, your soul-mate, your man.

Oh yes there are, dear; when they are not trying. Relax, grow and leave it to the universe.
