IN SILENCE


In silence, you cannot see my pain
I reach out to you in words but you cannot hear me
The signs were always there but no one noticed, or did they just not care!
I sat here in my pain day by day so very lonely and still no one noticed
You could hear my cries as they echo in the night
To kill the pain I became a drug user and an alcoholic
Still you never came
Now I am an embarrassment you say you care!
However, where were you when I was crying out in despair?
I know you are not the ones to blame
As family, you almost drove me insane
Stood by and watched and did not care
Now my life is mostly gone and you say I am a waste
However, I say as family and friends you are the disgrace
