having been in countries where freedom of speech does not exist i think this is a poem well written on the subject. the saying 'the pen is mightier than the sword', comes to mind. as a person who enjoys writing poetry - i am always aware that my written words are in some ways similar to stones being thrown. by this i mean once you throw a stone - you cannot call it back, it is then beyond your control. once we write and publish a poem we cannot call it back, it is launched for better or worse at the public. we have no way of knowing what affect our words will have on those who chose to read them, so i always think it's wise to remember that. 1 day 3 hours and 46 mins as i post mister...
Thanks, LadyBee. You have my heart. Your positive attitude and beautiful mind are a treasure to me. And this time tomorrow, I'll be holding you in my arms. And I'm glad I get to show you a bit of this beautiful country that I love so much.
Hi, gardenhackle, Words, values and beliefs put into action will transform the world. The higher the value, the better the world. Because we're free to denigrate Is not to say we should. Yes, it is easy to point out flaws but quite another matter to point out and assist in constructive ways through which one can overcome flaws and improve.
gnj4u, that's exactly right. Denigrating, maligning and castigating is very easy but not very fruitful. Clarifying problems and then designing solutions and plans of action; well, they're not so easy. But that's what makes the world (and our own lives) better. For every problem there is a solution and finding the solution is always going to get a better result than grumbling about the existence of the problem.
