Memories

As time slowly passes by,
the days grow lonely and sad.
I can only dream of yesterday,
and the happiness I had.
To live this life without you,
surely would be a sin.
So now I live in solitude,
to never know love again.
My heart has turned to stone,
harder and so cold.
To capture your love one more time,
forever I would hold.
Now your gone forever,
another fills your needs,
but there are things he can not have.
My love for you, and our memories.

About this poem:
Several years ago I was walking in a townhouse subdivision when I spied a piece of yellow legal paper on the sidewalk. It had a smudge on it apparently from somebodies foot where it had been stepped on. I picked it up and this poem was hand written on it, complete with corrections.
