The End

You may ask any person what our poet has meant,
Though this person may find it hard to comment,
You may turn to the poet to please, just explain,
What's the point of such living in a circle of pain.

You may turn to your husband, ask the same of your wife,
If he shares your feelings, if she’s part of your plight.
Ask your friends and good neighbors, what is “start to an end”
Of a life that is drifting towards its meaningless end.

Come what may, try to draw out meaning,
Do right thing, make particular sense,
And remember, of life that we’re leading
There’s a start to an imminent end.

About this poem:
Inspired by the ending line of Bentlee’s free verse ...life comes in circles....: “... there's a start to an end of the life that you lead.”

Hi maikia. At first I struggled over the first lines, but then understood your line of thought...
Yes, every day we live we edge closer to our end....whatever the subject, there are beginnings, but imminent ends.
