I wonder

Thought I’d never be so lonely,
Clouds will scatter that blight my life.
Thought I’d never feel so lonesome,
Wonder whether it's day or night.

Days are passed in tiresome longing,
Do I mind? Oh, I do not mind.
Never thought I’d feel so lonesome,
Wonder whether it’s day or night.

Thinking, where you will be going,
In the day, through the night.
Roads are long, and twisted, fearsome,
Wonder whether it’s day or night.

Friends are coming, cheering, teasing,
It will pass, it soon will pass,
Time will come, give up such feelings,
Wonder whether it’s day or night.

Winter takes its toll of the homeless
Huddled close by camping fire.
Come and take my humble offering,
Wonder whether it’s day or night.

Far from crowds, with mind unquiet,
I will hide, just let me hide.
Wonder, what if it really matters?
Wonder whether it's day or night.

Tell me, why I am so wondering?
It’s so quiet, why so quiet?
Am I alive and will you think of me,
If I die, when I die?

A very reflective piece Marikia with a strong sense of pathos at the end. Thanks for sharing. hug
