You and Me

Each day I wonder, what will come of you and me?
Each day I contemplate this unanswered question, it stays with me.
Will we be like two strangers who pass in the night, pretending all is right?
Will we say what’s in our hearts; release the flood that’s waiting there.
Why must you go your way, when you way will take you far away?
“Don’t you know it’s time to act," I say. Look my way, and not away, stay close and closer we shall be.
What will come of you and me?
Will we age in years and always think, “What could have been, had we only tried again.”
I believe in us, always have, and so tell me please, do you believe still?
Let you answer come forth over your lips, from your heart say, “I still believe in you and me, let us try and never give up.”
Let us wonder no more, for we belong together forevermore. Just open your eyes and you shall see what I can see, “You and I entwined, and loving as it was meant to be.”
