You're very welcome. Mary had read all of the pretty sonnets here and wanted me to post mine. I'm kind of embarassed about it.I'm more of a give-her-flowers kind of guy so when I wrote this 18 years ago she had really inspired me. I'm not a poetry writing kind of guy, but I do enjoy reading it when I get a chance. She is my heart's song.
This is Richard. I'm also known as Mr.Bear (Mary's pet name for me). I tried to show her how much I love her through words and this is what came of it. I'm glad you liked it.
Believe it or not, Mary actually does not like the color pink. I thought that in the spirit of Valentine's Day that I would use the pink background for my "sonnet" as Mary calls them.
It turns out that when Mary was very little, her parents had painted her room a garish pink with some mauve thrown in. To her it looked like Pepto Bismol (an anti-nausea medicine). She did not like that room and did not like staying in it for any reason and was always sick in that room. To this day, the color pink makes her very sick. She was *NOT* happy when her best friend chose pink as a wedding color. The dress Mary is wearing in her profile pic is pink and she loathed that dress. Had to fight from being ill that day. She has never worn that dress again and swears never to either.
Lovely romantic poem! But I'm confused after reading thru the comments. Is this Mary or Richard posting today? Did Mary & Richard become a couple? I sure hope so.
Mr.Bear (Richard) is my heart's delight and we recently celebrated 28 years of marriage this past Fall. :-) Recently he was asking me if I had gotten back here recently and he asked me to bump up this 'ol number for you all. :-)I made my niche' here as the Cowboy Poet (yes, that includes women as well) I'm so glad you liked this piece.

But soft the wind comes from the sky And whispers tales of Mary. Thank you for sharing this lovely tale of love.
