halls that burst to flame
halls that burst to flame,
the metal heating itself up,
the crys echo down, the burning stairs,
with the overhanging smoke lingering above.
the windows cracked and theres people inside,
3 males and 3 women, huddled stuck, to one room
inside there scared and can feel the heat,
they start to perspire in a unnatural fit.
they see a accessable window for just one person
a skinny male of 18 could fit through, they smash
the glass as it sprinkles onto the heated floor
the man picks him up and helps him through,
suddenly, as though time was slowing down
the ceiling was creaking and seemed to weaken.
the young man got out, but did not run away,
he looked back and saw there scared faces,
as there impending doom was near, they huddled
back together, wishing they were somewhere else,
pretending to form a invisable barrier
against the halls of flame.
in the nick of time the sirens could be heard,
sirens that threatens the fire, like a
rival wolf secureing its terrortory,
the young man gets down and runs towards the light
he stops to look back at what was once his shelter
the men drag out a hose of power and might,
they attack the fire with there might,
drowning the heat of the flames with there might,
they broke inside with there sharpened axe,
and masterfully they climb the chared stairs.
the battle rages, as the fire wishes not to give up,
standing like a battle to the last man, they get to the door,
which the heat has now has dimmed to a fraction of its power,
the men hurryingly get inside they knock the door
down with ease, but within a slow breath they see
what they have most feared.
the fire stole there lifes, it took there chance in life,
but bravely, did the men fought against the flames,
to atleast obtain its spread of power, but the battle was lost
and so where the people, who were stuck inside.
