Walcha Girl
Born an bred a country girl from sheepfarmers stock
Your strength of mind an character was never a shock
A sense of humour came with ease , giftwrapped your soul
Accomodated the hurdles , you had in life , as a whole
You raised your siblings through the hardest part of life
Lard an bread their diet , to get you out of strife
An all the time , never mind ,you'd take it on the chin
An i'm sure if you looked hard enough , there was that cheeky grin
As i became a part of your life , as the years moved on
We may have had barriers , but we formed a special bond
Once again you had to care for more than your share
Never once did i ever see or feel the ruffle of your hair
Amazing cook with meals they fed , an sated everytime
Creating eagerness for the ringing bell , around dinnertime
You could here it three blocks away , an strain as you might
You knew it was that time of day , an off you go in full flight
Your garden was your passion , an out of every bloom
Came the beauty of your soul , each petal had entombed
Vivacious colours , all around the house there'd be
Are some of the fondest memories i have of thee
