On Parting
Wish good luck, dear friend,
Please don’t mind what I’ve said
Thinking high of myself,
Harm I’ve done does relate.
Better think of the past,
Minute lost was a crime,
When we feared should we part
We’ll regret all our life.
In the name of times spent
Wish me well, dear friend,
Do not grudge me a line,
Cause it’s all that is left.
Tell what’s new in your life,
Write few lines, say good bye,
I’ll believe what you say,
Will not read between lines,
Will not beg to come back,
Will not dream you were mine.

How many times do we die in this way in our life - slowly, steadily, with every painful parting!?
