I don't like being here. But this foolish pride... Is stronger than this door between us. The message is clear. You want let me inside. You don't trust. You want things your way. So this closed door will stay. It is easier than looking at me. For the pain you caused you will see. I've been waiting like a fool. For this door to open. Let me in. Where the healing can begin. But its cold out here. I have dealt with pain many times before. It will hurt but it will go in the memory box. With many many more. I will try to leave the box closed. And not look inside. Because all those memories turned to foolish pride.

About this poem:
Life and decisions can be very difficult at times. When are you the door mat or the one with foolish pride? And it is not always a happy move to let being right stand in the way of love. Sometimes being right just is not that important. So here I stand........closed door. What to do????????????
i think i've to answer at this one too...i dunno if is foolishness or pride or just dissapointment ..i think you dunno until you open the last door.i should use blackberry" you would have an answer than.
HGL, your comment states the conundrum clearly. "Life and decisions can be very difficult at times. When are you the door mat or the one with foolish pride? And it is not always a happy move to let being right stand in the way of love. Sometimes being right just is not that important."
the seemingly never ending question "you wanna be right or you wanna be happy?" we all get asked, again and again. ;-)
Hi, Happygolucky4u, One should always resist pride that is foolish; but, one cannot open a door for which one is denied the key. So, one can either wait outside with the doormat, where its cold out here, or look for another door that is ready to be opened, offering warmth. Thank you for sharing.

Here is some words I never thought I would say Thank you superman
And I do think dissappointment has actually played a part in the closing of the door staying closed. Sometimes you just get so disappointed you just want to lean on the door and not worry about opening it. I opened the last door and found sometimes all those doors close but are not really stuck closed.
@ agoodguy2have I think I will always prefer happiness....I do not always have to be right and I do not always have to prove I am right. And this is thanks to a dear friend who taught me this in life. May her and her wisdom rest in peace.
This sounds so much like my relationship with my 2 mid twenties sons who are really just discovering the concept that 'respect' is a two way street..give it time....
