Words
Author: Unknown
Words,
they say so much and mean so little.
They're a weapon and a shield,
they're whispered and they're screamed.
Words are promises and words are lies,
they bring praises, they criticize.
Words mean so little.
Now a touch, a hope, and a dream,
are much more real than they seem.
A smile, a look and a gleam,
say so much more.
A touch is warm, intimate and endearing,
Hope is a weapon and a shield.
Dreams are promises, smiles are praises,
without meaningless phrases.
A look can be whispered or screamed,
or with love it is a gleam.
A touch, a look and a gleam
are promises, hopes and dreams,
and they say, I love you.
Words mean so little.

About this poem:
Most of my work is very self explanatory. All my work comes from deep within me and is a window to my soul and who I really am inside. I wrote this one night when a serious situation brought to my attention just the impact that simple words can have on a person's feelings..... this poem is the result of that thought process.
