Empty Promises

"Empty Promises" (Written for, and dedicated to, Dharma)
"Empty Promises"

Empty promises, that's all I get.
You'd think I was just a pet.
They come, and they just go.
Seems like it's just for show.

So empty promises is all I get.
I'm tired of just being your pet.

So make it happen, or let me go.
Don't make me wait, or go slow.
'Cause empty promises are all I've got.
And all you do is stir the pot.

Empty promises, that''s all I get,
And I'm tired of just being a pet.

Empty promises, that's all I get,
And I'm tired of just being a pet.

About this poem:
A friend on another site was having problems with a guy who wouldn't commit. I wrote this song for her because I am empathetic and was feeling her pain. I'm sure many of you can identify with this song, especially if you are familiar with the song, "You Should Have Put A Ring On It".
