The wish of the heart
the dream of the mind..
Who attends to our wants?

Surely the vine gives us
fruit and we say that nature
has provided splendidly

But of the wish..the desire
for love..has nature the will
to give?

Does the moon know of our
romantic longings and will
a red sunset deliver to us
a passionate hope?

Will the wind snuff out the
last flame of of a heart
in quest of mystical union?

Or shall a higher providence
shape the wind, the waves, and
the sea to sooth the eternal
fire that burns within the
breast?

Oh, toss these musings of the
inner self to the morning star
Let the shaper of fleeting dust
breathe life into a velvet night~
