Deep Mourning Loss

Solid are the clouds of my despair
Covers my world smooth as pure steel
Trapped beneath feelings so raw and bare
Dizzying thoughts in a spinning wheel
With such wounded spirit will I impair
Joyful life and blessed love so surreal
In such deep place muttering silent prayer
There's no such mercy also left to conceal
The true feeling of a blank heartless stare
In sorrow's pool raindrops and tears congeal

Yankee, I truly hope that there is no story behind this poem to cause it's inspiration.... if so, I'm so sorry for the depths of agony that you're suffering to write such mournful words. An incrdible write!!!

My father died in my arms 5 years ago and when I wrote this on his birthday a couple days ago...I was more than anything just remembering how deeply I mourned him....and ocassionally still do....

A brilliant poem and heart rending tribute to the beloved father! Your emotions and sorrow are still as fresh as ever, as if this wound has never been healed in real. Please accept my belated condolences and thank you very much for sharing this poem with us! hug teddybear

Hi Yankee,

Grief is such a hard thing to express in words. I don't even think I'm mature enough to attempt it, so I salute you in this very personal endeavour. handshake

Hi Yankee

An excellent read: I have noticed quite a few of your recent poems have sonnet-like qualities to them - I can't help wondering why you don't try your hand at writing a sonnet? You clearly do not lack the ability...

Regards

Bill cheers
