Walking hand and hand by the shoreline
Cool water barely touching
Sand sticking to your feet and mine
But not caring one lick of the clinging
Clear sky revealing shimmering, glinting stars
Like petite diamonds beyond our reach
No thought of hurried city life nor speeding cars
Hands glued entwined on this lonely beach
When we talk we need only look into eachs eyes
A knowing squeeze as clear as blind reading braille
We walked all night no bother our location under shimmering skies
For the stars made us appear as standing still even in this gale
Lost in the recesses of our passionate thoughts
Not even acknowleging the cool autumn air
Sand dunes, rocky edge, waters sheen, reflecting moonbeams, distant yachts
How much more could we love and care
So carefree without any fears
A feeling so special.....so very rare
Dwindling time together, every moment prescious....now anxious
as morning nears
We turn to each other and stare
Our gaze then becomes a knowing smile
We walk in the opposite direction.... intent on turning back the dial
