Wish I could say again that you were mine Till time when I have paid my dues and left To dwell in peace far from the place of strife, Till all my suffering has stopped, till I am dead!
I think of all mistakes and blunders with regret, How we’d be getting on if not so wide asunder, Would more remorse and pain our life beset Had our love survived that blow, I wonder.
And what has come to our pledge to love?! Love was to last for lifetime till we’re gone. Back, bear and sustain throughout the life, Love was to take, but was to give much more.
No matter how unfortunate our love, Its memories remain and stay with us!

About this poem:
It's about things past that cannot be recalled, as the saying goes... but there are memories - you can't just wave them off!
I regret the ones I loved but was too afraid of rejection to tell them how I felt. This poem brings up some of those lost loves.

Very nice and romantic sonnet full of deep meaning, heartfelt. You are right, our moments are a treasure that no one or anything can take away from us. Thank you for sharing this Marikia

A feeble attempt at sonnet writing once upon a time. Thank you!
you are a gem of a daughter
pride of your people and their time
you are the light that shines still
