Late Autumn Fields

Grayness drapes a late autumn sky
Soft moaning winds howl slowly by
Ice skimming ponds in fields nearby
Winter will come in the blink of an eye
The smallest rabbits chewing bark
Late in day growing shadows of dark
Criss cross across ground so stark
Fresh scrapes left like chisel marks
