I wear your slippers...
At least two sizes too big for my feet ,
I throw on your old faded Hefner robe,
Feeling empty,alone, a vague sense of defeat.

But I put your slippers on in the morning..
And shuffle through,what it is,
I have to do.
And so I wear your slippers,
Simply, to take a walk in your shoes.

And when I go to bed at night..
I put on that old American Eagle t- shirt
That you practically lived in too,
And I do this quite simply,
Because it reminds me of you.

And when I dream at night..
I hold your pillow so close to me..
And I breathe in, and sigh contentedly,
Dreaming of the way it used to be.
