I took my thoughts to the edge of the sea..Part II

It was now time for the frivolous gulls to play with my thoughts,
They put on a phantasmagoric display of irreverence as they laughed at my insecurities,
Scorned my lack of faith,
And generally heaped great insults at my penchant for taking life way too seriously,
Well, what else could one expect from gulls...???

Next it was a hapless sand dollar’s turn to be presented with my thoughts,
The poor thing gasped and nearly fainted from the weight,
‘Help,’ it croaked as it pleaded for the Surf to claim it back and send it on a long furlough...

Next a group of Dolphins came to sport with me,
‘Hello, what have we here? A human’s thoughts, hhhmmm’, was the only sound that emanated from them as they studied my writings in the sand,
‘We shall convene a council and let you know our recommendations dear Surf, bye for now...’ as they dove beneath the waves gracefully...

Suddenly, I heard a great roar and a frightful gale overcame the placid sea,
As Poseidon himself rose in all his splendour from the immense depths,
‘Who dares disturb me’, he thundered as the sun was blackened and ten tempests arose simultaneously, to dance and cavort and to pay homage to their grand master,
Thunder and lightning joined in the awe-full array,
Almost wetting myself from fear, I meekly pointed to my thoughts in the sand,
‘Harrumph’, came from his throat as he studied the writing,
‘You’ll have my input anon’, he growled as he sank into his beloved waters’ nether parts...

Well, I waited breathlessly,
As the great and kind and gentle Seer prepared herself to give me some feedback...

‘Do not mind what happens to you...’, she intoned as she politely bade me farewell...

Earlgrey...I'm not worthy to be the first person to comment on this incredibly wonderful piece of imagery in writing! What an INCREDIBLE talent you have for creating visual effects through carefully selected words, phrases and thoughts! I must admit though... there's one word here...'phantasmagoric'... that has me scratching my head confused (Even my dictionary put me on hold as it had to consult it's dictionary for explanation on this one!)
How about a little interpretive assistance here?

laugh I knew I was in trouble when I started feeling sorry for the sand dollar - then the dolphins - but jeez, now I'm feeling sorry for swade laugh comfort You gotta go with the seer though, what happens happens no matter how many thoughts you have on the subject. (that 'Harrumphing' thing, do men start doing that at any specific age?
never mind just a distraction.uh oh

Hi Swade, thanks for your comment, here's the definition you requested:-

phan·tas·ma·go·ri·a (fn-tzm-gôr-, -gr-) also phan·tas·ma·go·ry (fn-tzm-gôr, -gr)
n. pl. phan·tas·ma·go·ri·as also phan·tas·ma·go·ries
1.
a. A fantastic sequence of haphazardly associative imagery, as seen in dreams or fever.
b. A constantly changing scene composed of numerous elements.
2. Fantastic imagery as represented in art.

'phantasmagoric' - Wow! Thank you for that definition! Here I've been experiencing 'phantasmagoric' almost every night for the past many years and thinking all along it was some form of mental deterioration to go along with the physical deterioration that I'm experiencing with age! Now, I feel elated!! It's only phantasmagoric that I'm experiencing - not mental aging!!! I'm ready to go drink an entire keg of root-beer!! Anyone want to join me? cheers cheers cheers

Thank you Earlgrey!!! handshake

Hi Earl

You write as only you can, this narrative is awash with allegories and food for thought: What a pity that Hellenians are prevented by law from running for the Presidency of the USA - I'm sure that very quickly the world would become a much better and safer place.

Hi EGT,

You know you remind me of the oracle of Delphi and I'm sure you were brought up in that tradition. You philosophise and you speculate and in your annecdotal style you look for answers. I always get so much from reading your meanderings. cheers mate. Good to see you back in full harness. cheers

Thank god, we're banned from running for president, 'cause, as we know dear Bill, 'absolute power corrupts absolutely...', recently i was watching Tolle banter with Dyer, Tolle has been voted no.1 most effective spiritual teacher alive, Dyer no. 3, Dalai Lama no. 2, so, as they were teasing each other about it, Tolle was asked by an audience member:- how do you handle such am incomparable honor? 'you drop it like a hot potato', replied Tolle, i believe Charlie Chaplin, once made a similar remark to a close friend, asking him how he handled such great fame..., anyways, Bill, love you as always for your enthusiasm and grace...
