What a cool ride! A comet as fast as lightening - using stars as spurs! That's awesome Mary! What a great mind you have for creating incredible images with words! YeeeeeeHaaaaa! Ride em Cowgirl!!
As a child on the ranch, fun was whatever our imaginations could conjure up. Seeing images as the clouds rolled by, drawing, writing and putting those images we had seen into words. :)I like to paint pictures with my words and let the reader's imagination take them to places.:)
So glad you like this one. :)

I'd do it all and take the chance To hold the trail through and after awhile; If he would throw me just one word And tie it up with one sweet smile.
Wow readerofsouls,
This is a testament of so much perseaverance and great hope...and we do need it specially when we think we are low on the battery of our strength...Love it...
Thanks,
Phyllis

Hi Mary,
Love the cowgirl imagery in this one...the extended metaphor of the round up. Now you've gotten my imagination out on the range under that big Texas sky. Nice one.
This piece was written when Mr.Bear and I were courtin'. He made me feel all fluttery and warm and fuzzy inside. I was so shy in telling him my feelings, so I wrote this to him in a letter. It was one of the pieces that helped seal our relationship firmly. :)
I'm so glad you like the imagery. :) How I *wish* there was a cowboy constellation to see when I look at the stars! :)
If only we could "do the which (we are) simply aching to perform" my dear poet this world would be totally wonderful or madly chaotic! Great read I truly enjoyed it.
Thank you most kindly for your words. I truly believe that as a near lifelong craftswoman of the written word, that our work should paint a 'seeable' picture.
