I have spend too much time Holding you in my dreams That my arms feel empty When I awake And I ache With twisted longing For your touch For your hand to caress The small of my back For the sound of your laughter In my ear To hear Your deep voice Singing me to sleep.
I pray for forgetfulness But long to relive Each treasured moment Each lost dream When blinded by the gleam Of reality Totality Banality I lose you all over again.
Our arms should always be full, Ladybee, of lovers, babies and friends at different times in our lives. I have plenty of the last, thankfully; am waiting on grandchildren for the second (they'll be a long time in coming) so hopefully, I'll find one of the first again very, very soon
