My Most Favorite Mistake

My Most Favorite Mistake

I awoke just before dawn the stars still blinking
Hearing our song, my night wish I'm thinking
As I wake I take in the sweetness of your scent
Seeing the curl of your smile as it bent

Humming our melody, harmony's masterpiece
I feel the love surround me that you release
Warm and soft like raptured dreams of a summer rain
Or the kiss of the sun forever there to remain

It was not a dream all those moments on your arms
My heart dancing and leaping from your charms
Humming our favorite tune all the day in my head
Remembering that, “Shhh I'm here my love” you said

For all eternity hand in hand from shore to shore
Mountain after mountain we climb higher ever more
Captured dreams awaiting, and this blessing you make
Always forevermore with you, my most favorite mistake
