Strength

I have moved on, started anew
Found strength in me, more than I knew
Strength to overcome you, your malice and games and narcissistic ways
So hear me now when I say, “I am STRONG more every day!”
I see you more each passing day, deceit no more, shadows cast away!
Unveiled you were I ´m proud to say, ripped you to shreds that last day
Forget me you will not, no matter what you say
Lessons learned will come your way, no one there to see things your way!

About this poem:

Overcoming a destructive relationship is very hard, but not impossible. I ended the relationship a year next month, had my ups and downs and even now have some difficult times. But, I am stronger and learned a valuable lesson: Never let someone darken your inner light and rob you of who you are!

welcome back spnglish, a lesson learned makes one wiser was even more important is through these terrible times you get to know more about yourself in finding out how resiliant and strong you really are. a partnership in love is suppose to be that suppose to be an addition to the life that you all ready made for yourself not a burden . how do you know it's a good relationship when you can look at each other and smile, after a sensitive subject of discusion. glad to hear you are okay.
