stepping out
Yesterday I took a step away
away from the heartache
away from the tumult
away from stress
it is somewhat unknown just what I have stepped into
but I do know that that which I've stepped out of
offered only pain
it has been a while since I ventured out
eighteen years
now, a new beginning is before me
things had been so awful for so long
maybe I'll once more carry a song in my heart
a smile on my face
laugh aloud
and do the hootchie-koo......
