~Marlborough Forest~

Hooves like thunder echo the trees
Leaves in her wake floating the air
Her hair letting go feelings of love
Crystal dried tears on her cheekbones above.

Corset in place face shining bright
Fingers in tremble skin of moonlight
Misty blue eyes take in the sky
Lost loves been found, not sure quite why.

Leaves in the trees chatter the wind
The old ones tell stories of a love that was lost
Its always three times the hooves come around
As already there's been two with that sound.

He'd loved her two times, the third is now here
The past that were two, were taken away
Out from under their feet, they could do not a thing
He gave her a promise, he gave her a ring.

Cobblestone streets and the lights lit of gas
Bared shadow's of two hands fingers held tight
Later that night he was taken away
Her heart broke in pieces, love went away.

Hooves like thunder echoed the trees
Crystal dried tears on her cheekbones above.

She'd found what she thought was love a few times
Yet her heart could not settle, nor could her mind
Thoughts of hands and fingers held tight
She always knew, "That" lost love was so right.

Into the town she rode dust in wake
Laden chapped legs, hitched horse it stood
Full streets were idle of talkin about
Spurs in place, saloon doors in shout.

In the corner he sat, beer is half tipped
Four blue eyes meet, second time in life
She orders a whisky, sits at the bar
Eyes are in focus not travelling far.

Coal oil lights, brighten the streets
Shadowed hands, fingers held tight
Unknowing he touches her face from the past
That touch is remembered, that touch feel does last.

High on the plains two horses ride by
Blue eyes in stare, fingers held tight
I'll be here for the third, and I know you will too
Let's promise each other........to both make it right~
