You are always there...
As the sun streams through your curtains in the morning,
You’re there to greet it,
As you brew that morning cup, you’re there to enjoy it,
As you drive to work,
Your hands are on the wheel,
When the boss yells at you, you’re always there,
When you’re eating your lunch tacos, you’re there,
When towards the end of the month your wallet is getting lean, you’re there,
When your mate nags you as you reach for that scotch to calm you down, you’re there...
As you pull your baby daughter out of your beloved’s womb, you’re there,
As you watch her smile and the whole world seems a whole lot rosier, you’re there,
As she grows and manifests the myriad different stages of childhood, you, the proud parent, are there...
As you watch the vast valleys below from atop the mountain range you just climbed, you’re there,
As you smell a sweet-smelling blooming flower, you’re there,
As your mouth waters at the fillet mignon you’re enjoying, you’re there...
But,
But,
What if you were not there?
Would the sun’s rays be there?
What about the mountain range, would it be there if you were not there to experience it?
Would there even be a butcher shop if you did not think to go there?
Quantum physics is discovering with a reverberating body of evidence that ‘you’re only there when you’re there’, meaning ‘there’s no out there’ there...
The ancient mystics, of course, have told us that all along...
So, the question is:-
Are you there?

A philosophical conundrum! For some reason this reminds me of T S Eliot's Macavity, the cat who was never there. Your writing is always an entertainment, and frequently an education. It's always great to see you here on The Corner...
Kindest regards
Bill
Neither here nor there - or everywhere? I wonder...
Thank you for sharing another of your inspiring poems with us.
I remember watching an episode of "The Simpsons" recently and they brought up the old philosphic debate about if a tree falls in the forest and no one hears of sees it does it really fall. How do we measure our reality? Jings, you pose some big concepts in this one. Cheers mate.
Peace and love.
I find this piece of yours a very simple expression of the most realistic and yet most philosophical analysis of truth.
Quantum physics is discovering with a reverberating body of evidence that ‘you’re only there when you’re there’, meaning ‘there’s no out there’ there...

So, the question is:-
Are you there?
If we want to question the existence of God and its creation including me and you, then I can't find any way of equation to relate of this truth.
Yet if we don't question that very essence and just accept our insignificance, OF COURSE, WE ARE THERE AND EVERYWHERE WHETHER EVENT OR ACT HAPPENS.
I was reading the philosophy of BARUCH SPINOZA, who is a Jew and raised in Amsterdam. Anyways, his belief is the closest to being quantomized or based on methaphical geometry, the measure of all that exist. He claims and quote: "we are all creation of God and part of only one substance and that is God or nature."
Therefore, if you can conceive any of this idea and yet question whether the existence of you is a measure of the truth around us, then there might be a conflict.
But then again each and everyone of us has our own inherent belief and philosophy tailored from our own schooling, culture and experience.
If you were my professor or if you were my student (I thought philosphy specially the pre renaissance and after..), this would have been a very substantial discussion that can entail endless theories and conclussions....
anyways, thanks for sharing..
Thank you again...
