The wind of change is blowing hard The momentum has picked up. Each word I speak meets with disregard When did I first drink from this cup?
When was it you first changed your mind? What moment decided our love's descent? How often did you wish to leave me behind When did I become the one you resent?
Is that what time and familiarity bring? Does too much closeness tear a hole? Did indifference tarnish like my ring? Or did your love just become old?
.........Go then............
Why change now...just don't ask Besides you hold all the reasons It was you, not I, behind the mask And I deserve love, not changing seasons!
People wear masks for different reasons, some don't for different reasons too. I guess it is better for some situations like church, you don't want to be a heathen there, you have to put on the mask for the sake of peace, but in the home where you can truely be yourself, well that can get scary sometimes.

Lively, I really enjoyed your poem, I experienced the samae as you a long time ago. It does help to get things off your chest, stay in there. studecar
Hi I can relate to your poem. It took me a long time to recover from that separation. It is much harder when you are made to feel and convinced everything is going great and the next day the your world is crushed. I had to make a conscious effort to make myself believe I am better without the person. Like you said:
It was you, not I, behind the mask And I deserve love, not changing seasons!
