Addicted

I just wanna write
All the bloody time
I'm kinda like a sheila
Yakkin in rhyme
Its like an addiction
The ink my desire
Words of intrigue
To fuel the fire
Lonliness is
A path to discontent
I'll not dwell
Nor neither rent
For while my pen
Is aptly engaged
No need to worry
No need for rage
It helps me to
Let go of the past
Makes me face
Words that will last
Allows me to be
All that i am
Expressing myself
The best that i can
I'll say what i want
With respect in mind
Appreciate all others
Verse an Rhyme
Comments maybe
Few an far
But writing is
The joy by far
Through words of others
I can surmise
A soulful link
Does not surprise
Like a window
Gently ajar
Catching the breeze
To show who you are.......

Hi Nuwahri,

You have touched upon the reason many on here write poetry. It's a sort of purging process...very therapeutic and intellectually stimulating....some do crosswords...but expressing those thoughts and feelings, trying to capture in words what is going on inside is a remarkable process. I liked this one alot. cheers

Yes...addictive...but also a therapy...of that I have no doubt. I feel calmer when i am writing, especially poetry. Swapping words I think has improved my health, but I just let my doctor think it's himrolling on the floor laughing
