Good Friends

I love her deeply as a friend,
I can't allow it to extend
Beyond the scope that friendships be,
That's not fair - to her - or me.

But if I do not adhere
To bounds that I've made clear,
'twould be so easy to let go -
"Easy" - would only hurt, I know.

If health and age were no concern,
I'd feel different, I will affirm,
But my love for her - it all depends
On us remaining just good friends.

It is so wonderful to have a friend that I can confide in, to tell her my problems and to listen to hers. It is a blessing.

To have a good friend who will treat you like an extention of themselves...Who will be there in your corner when life gets tough..Is worth more than gold. Here's to good friends.
