Good Friends

I love her deeply as a friend,
I can't allow it to extend
Beyond the scope that friendships be,
That's not fair - to her - or me.

But if I do not adhere
To bounds that I've made clear,
'twould be so easy to let go -
"Easy" - would only hurt, I know.

If health and age were no concern,
I'd feel different, I will affirm,
But my love for her - it all depends
On us remaining just good friends.

About this poem:
It is so wonderful to have a friend that I can confide in, to tell her my problems and to listen to hers. It is a blessing.

To have a good friend who will treat you like an extention of themselves...Who will be there in your corner when life gets tough..Is worth more than gold. Here's to good friends. handshake hug purple heart
