Love estranged

Unspoken words we're afraid to say
need to be heard anyway
You're right here but feel so far away
trying to hide from yersterday
Somethings got to give
we try to hard to try to live
We could have made a change
before we found ourselves estranged
I love you more today
than anyone ever has along the way
Your here in body
but your mind's astray
but you can't hide from yesterday

And you try to make me cry
To have something to pass the time
But my emotional defences are high
And so am I

Something to ease the pain
Sleep all day in the pouring rain
as I die again
with the thought of you with another man
How much more can I take
How many more times can I break
As you find a new place to hide
I die a little more on the inside
I love you more everyday
despite the words I hear you say
It's only our hearts we betray
when we turn each other away

That's when you try to make me cry
You think it's enough to get you by
But my emotional defences are high
And so am I, and so am I

And the emptiness
causes the distress
in a choice we cannot make
Because a choice this bad
will only make life far to sad
if it's made in haste
And the lonliness
cuts like broken glass
leaving a pain that we can taste
And the nights unrest
causes bitterness
in the truth we cannot face
