Lips

My lips shake
swollen from my teeth, I've been holding this inside so long
as I release the grip,I softly exhale
its the right time to say it but the time feels so wrong.

My heartbeats, irregular rhythm as if it's too broken to play its usual song
the pain is pleasure
the pain is gone

Black lips, white teeth, pink gums, red tongue
but the words colourless, speechless
they are yet to be born, raise my voice again
however i'm still an embryo to the truth

Lori, I am thinking like, maybe sometimes, pleasure and pain are one and the same? The way I understand from your second stanza...But in the end, it's kind of like you can't really come up with any thoughts to be shared yet because it is too soon?

Thanks and take care.

Nice!!!;-) I like. Stop biting your lips and holding back from saying what you want to say, it is occasionally necessary to disregard feelings and tell it how it is...don't sugar coat it or disguise it, your soft exhale is a sigh of relief to release what's trapped within, it needs its air to breath before it suffocates you both. The off beat off your heart reminding you the true pleasure within love is gone. Your words are colors of truth.
