in retrospect, i should have kissed ....

i've had my ups, and many downs and possibly some misfortunes.
i should have kissed but i had missed
to take the opportunities.

in retrospect, i did expect that life would come to me.
but over the years i learned to know that it's not so.
you'd need to go and grab it.

be young at heart, and always start a possible conversation.
for you never know, where it could lead
a well placed exclamation !

people need people, it's always been so. then keep you door open.
let your heart show and maybe you'll meet
the one that makes you whole !

well that's a lesson to be learned, from an old and wizened fella.
make the most of your days here on earth
and try to leave it better.

try and love your neighbour as yourself, if only all can do this.
no wars, no hurt, no hungry souls
just peace and love around us.

now that's said, don't forget, remember your dead in your prayers,
for they have passed, but are looking on.
preparing the way for us !
