across the ditch

exploring everything around i see
the beauty vast astounds me
the mountains thrust from earths core
the greenness of pastures is no bore
the depths of forests an clouds that care
amidst valleys deep an creeks that spare
rugged coastlines an beautiful bays
shell laden beaches where kids play
two oceans collide steeped in history
legends of tribes solving identity
ninety miles of pure white sand
a hole in the rock natures plan
steaming hot baths soothing the bones
mangonui fish an chips not eaten alone
waterfalls endlessly cascading in rhyme
birds in song keeping time
east to west an back again
six degrees difference here an then
gannets reside on oceans rock
tidal caves do take stock
black sands from an unknown place
strawberry fields an a timeless race
all a part of what i have seen
on lifes journey an in between........
