Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven! On bended knees
I’m standing before You with modest plea:
Of You it is not reaches, greatness that I request,
Oh I would hate with this to sacred prayer offend...
I wish instead that sky my humble soul enlighten,
And heart with love that emanates from You ignite,
So that for enemies, ev'n if by them I’m stabbed to death,
I’d ask forgiveness for they know not how they err.

A prayer such as this separates humankind from
all other forms of creation. It defys the laws of
nature, but then again divine love always has.
Thank you oh madien from the far country.
To Russia with love.

A great prayer...
I would omit only the following, because I'd be a fraud if I say that.

So that for enemies, even if by them I’m stabbed to death,
I’d ask forgiveness for they know not how they err.

Thought we could pray together! Kindest regards!hug

I too miss him Marikia - Cafe was quite a character - you never knew what to expect from him. One minute he was raising the devil - the next the wisest words in the world were coming out of him. I too miss him dearly even though I did not know him for only about 2 years - much shorter then of a lot of the other poets on here.

He came here in 2010 - the year I registered here, and he was the very first person whom I wrote after reading his inviting profile, and he responded immediately, saying that he was moving to some other location and promising to write back when he had settled down, and he did. A few lines from him, a few reassuring words sufficed to make me happy. He was so understanding and compassionate. He never told me he was seriously ill, but his one-time mention of a health check put me on an alert.
"Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear."
Thank you, Kathy, kindest regards!hug

I think forgiveness should be promoted worldwide, for the real war of a human being is with itself.
Good to find out of this author, especially if comes from orthodox church, for this is the foundation of faith and deeds, as i can see in the fruiting tree of this hymn.
