When I was in a dark place lost in depths of sorrow a bright light glinted at me gleaming tugging me forward
as slowly my feet dragged me towards it, it grew and grew until I reached it at last and was bathed, washed clean
that light led and guided me from bitter black despair surrounding my soul with love the love of true friends
the light was all of you reaching out to me lightening my way with words of hope
telling me with kindness never fear we are here to comfort you and let me know I am not alone

Hi Shadow, Very nicely written, you are an inspiration to Poet's Corner, I doubt I could have bettered you on this, it is so heartfelt and it tells it all, I admire you as a Poet and even more as a friend, I can only say it is such a wonderful poem, you are always to the point and always deliver, it is a pity they don't have a poet of the year award here on Poet's Corner, it would be a nice gesture for the great works on this site. carry on Linda, as I feel your best poem is still yet to be written ,know matter what your best is, there is always the chance of improving with another poem, that is the nice thing about creating something, Poetry is like potter's clay you can mould it into anything beautiful. all the best Darling. that light led and guided me from bitter black despair surrounding my soul with love the love of true friends
Poets are like minded people, we understand each other, I would rather tell my problems to a friend than a family member, families judge, friends listen.

It's amazing Linda, the number of poetic people who do find themselves in a dark place from time-to-time. It seems as though poetry and melancholy are natural bed fellows.
I think poets do have a predisposition for sailing closer to that fine line between madness and sanity than most other people. A fine write!
Best wishes
