i found a spot behind my shed
where early morn sun greets garden bed
upon my make do rainwater tank
i climbed and sat on a timber plank
my back against the shed did rest
while the suns rays did caress
squeezing the chill from my core
saturating with warmth galore
it wasn't long before i knew
my time there was overdue
and spring had sprung another surprise
to covet the norths winter disguise
a little early i'd like to say
means summers not so far away
and those long hot days i envy not
while winters here i'd almost forgot.......
