The Garden

I want to spend time in the garden with you
To sit and talk until daylight is through
Listen to birdsong from up in the tree
Watch butterflies so graceful and free

Totally relaxed and feeling no stress
Both locked inside of our happiness
Discussing the future and making our plans
And never letting go of each others hands

Watching the bee’s as they pollinate
From flower to flower in their busy state
The flowers are blooming with colours galore
And blossom is falling from the tree to the floor

Watching the sunset and then the moonrise
And seeing the stars when I look in your eyes
A hot cup of coffee to keep out the cold
Listening to each others stories being told

Eventually we will run out of light
So we retire inside for the rest of the night
When I wake my happiness is hard to hide
Because you are still there right by my side.
