Love Immortal

How much time
Can we depart
From our destiny
Known from the start

A thousand years
Out of touch
Really seems rather
A bit too much

What brings us close
You want to know
Longing for love
From head to toe

Were once you were
All I ever knew
Lost and found
Out of the blue

For kindred minds
Will always seek
What comforts us
So to speak

Will discover over
And over again
A love immortal
That’s just begun

Very nice yankee,
thanks for sharing..

Your write reminds me of these beautiful words of Rabindranath Tagore

“I seem to have loved you
in numberless forms, numberless times,
in life after life, in age after age,
forever.”

True love seems to be elusive when we get older, or maybe we get too picky. A most excellent poem dear Yankee. hug purple heart

I loved this poem as getting away from say one to one love thinking of love as a big feeling in a pot and hate and anger in another. When love be done it goes back into its own pot to be plucked out again by some lucky person. Hate the same and when one pot out weighs the other than the end of the world bang.
Sorry your poem carried me away to all possibilities.peace teddybear

"Love is like the sun coming out of the clouds and warming your soul!"
I wish love warmed the souls of all of us - "kindred minds" of this quiet corner - where promise of Immortal Love is in every single line shared by poets. "Longing for love From head to toe" gives us energy to move on no matter how many disappointments keep popping up on our way to love. Many thanks, dear poet, for sharing!wine bouquet

LOVE IMMORTAL is a poignant poem filled with some sadness, but it speaks of life's harsh reality of two lovers lost. Will they eventually regain their former, special love? I believe that love is immortal.
