Culture

I saw two men kiss today
Not a normal kiss
They were not gay
For they were born
Of greater things
And their culture
Resounds from within
It was a greeting of respect
Where foreheads meet
And noses rest
Where silence belies
The beauty within
A mark of knowing
Never a sin
'Twas if I was a mile away
A glance my way
Would only betray
The honesty
Of their mark
Never to be hidden
In the dark..........

There are different ways of greeting in different places. I guess the gesture of friendship is a nice thing to acknowledge in any form.hug reunion

I have always found culture interesting and how it shape individuals characters. However there are many definitions depending on the researcher field of study. The one I found most descriptive is as follow;

Gorodnichenko. Y, Roland. G, 2012, define Culture as "the set of value and beliefs people have about how the world (both nature and society) works as well as the norms of behavior derived from that set of value".

Human Value: "are motivational in nature and define what is important to us"(Adair. W.L, et al 2013, The Culturally Intelligent Team: The Impact of Team Cultural intelligences and Cultural Heterogeneity in Team Share Value)

Thanks for the read. Great poem

Culture can be a funny thing but to whom? The closed minded or the open and understanding. I see cultural differences as an enigma at times, but hey it was it is. Enjoyed the read….Jessehandshake
