" A Single Rose Petal "
A single petal from a red rose fell,
Dew drops on the leaves her tears,
Blood on her thorns a sad story to tell,
Defended her soul like spears.
A flower not ready to wilt this time,
Refusing to bow to the storm,
Defiant to surrender her beauty sublime,
Her spirit stands protected from harm.
For she is strong with passion for life,
A smile on the face of pain,
Staunch on a doubtful path of strife,
Life itself the ultimate gain.
A darkened tomb her world can be,
When forces turn the daytime black,
Bright colours my wish for her to see,
To forever tease the sunlight back.
Never relent sweet warrior rose,
On the sad days continue to dance,
Face the world with your gorgeous repose,
And your beautiful countenance.
Oh ! You have me like a helium balloon,
Released o'er San Fransisco bay,
Taken by the breeze I'm lost and gone,
Your story simply blew me away.

I am sure she will love it
Unabated and incessant
Not because of loneliness
But your story, too is the same
As mine . So I'm elated and enchanted
And here is my great respect
As your fellow survivor and a friend.
Thank you Mick. I'm honored.

Poetic beauty sublime is found in the poet's verse where ...thorns...Defended her soul like spears.... Thank you for sharing this gift from your pen.
Kind regards........Mick.
