Perhaps there is nothing
sometimes everything
often just anything
I require something...

Maybe if one has nothing
they have everything
then experiencing the freedom
to do anything without fear of losing something..

I still search for that something
to find that missing half
that brings warmth and shelter
something I can turn to..

Something that will be there
all the day long
enduring one storm then another
and like gentle flowers bloom into awareness!

Something and someone to shelter me
from shadow lonesome nights
when wolves howl and dogs bark
within the realm of dreamless sleep..

Some say great beasts find peace in a cage
the last resort that restrains wings
let that something be a gentle woman
to help pry those bars open...
