the battle raging in me.
Author: Unknown
i know you love me truly,
when all is said and done,
it flashes through the night sky,
when all is dark and gone.
there's a battle raging in me,
my feelings outward flow,
your influence consumes me,
this i think you know.
i wish to own my thoughts now,
to take pride in who is me,
confusion overwhelms me,
because i wish you'd still agree.
the childlike need acceptance,
in maturity you know,
i need to find my strength now,
my weakness worries so.
you built the blocks i stand on,
but some i threw aside,
but still the battle rages,
to you i still abide.
i shouldn't say your wrong here,
the lesson was quite sound,
so i search for some acceptance,
to find some common ground.
I've lived a different life mum,
I've learned from you its true,
life kaleidoscope of colours,
has caused a different view.
my energy is waining,
i do not like the fight,
the blocks became my wall now,
because i cannot say your right.

but humour your family and keep them dear.
Lovely heartfelt poem of the struggles we endure.
