A Tribute To Trees

Trees are sanctuaries
Whoever knows how to speak to them
whoever knows how to listen to them
can learn the truth
They do not preach learning and precepts
they preach
undeterred by particulars
the ancient law of life

When we are stricken
and cannot bear our lives any longer
then a tree has something to say to us:
Be Still! Be Still!
Look at me!
Life is not easy
Life is not difficult
Those are childish thoughts
Let God speak within you
and your thoughts will grow silent
You are anxious because your path
leads away from mother and home
But every step
and every day
lead you back again to the mother
Home is neither here nor there
Home is within you
or home is nowhere at all

About this poem:
I have read a lot of poems recently, on Poetry Corner, dealing mainly with hurt, pain and suffering, experienced by heartbreak, loneliness and other painful incidents.
You can find solace in Nature to ease your pain.
I posted a piece earlier on Birdsong.
This piece is on Trees; I hope you can feel its comforting effect as you read it, or better still, go outdoors, listen to the trees, and experience them directly. Be a tree hugger!
I came across this,on the net, as a quote from Herman Hesse
and reformatted it for posting.

banana a tree hugger I begrin
Joking apart Socrates A lot of creative people seem to have been classed with some kind of mental problem making them think outside the box. Is it in the genes does it carry on through generations getting stronger or weaker or even skipping a generation??
Know thyself dunno maybe that helps to cope with whatever makes you.
Tree hugging to me is a symbol a way to blend with all. I could not hug nothinggrin Its a symbol of strength, soaking up everything thrown at it giving out oxygen, that's a big smile this is my grounding to get to a healing place.
So yes that is a fine tribute to trees, a hug could put you on your knees as the truth will unfold and heal.peace teddybear
Have good week Socrates.hug

Hi Redex
Thank you for your comment.
Yes, a tree is a symbol of strength (and faithfulness).

I think you did a great job with your recent "Colours" poem, immersing yourself in the beauty of Nature. Based on this, I am sure your can do some wonderful Nature haiku. I look forward to seeing it.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Robert
Thank you for your comment.
I am so happy to hear that Hesse's "Siddharta" is your favourite book of all time for it is also mine. I posted an extract from it entitled "Enlightenment" which is very precious to me.

This is absolutely beautiful and not a truer word can be spoken, they are a very beautiful and peaceful life force, to be at one with nature, among it, sitting or touching, and I do believe they connect with one another and can connect with us.
I speak to my trees and plants all the time and love the natural therapy they bless me with.
